Two people, including a police officer, were sent to the hospital after a shooting in the Bronx Friday.
Police say the incident occurred during a traffic stop around 4 a.m. on East 224th Street. Officials say the officers discovered that the car was taken in a knifepoint carjacking in Hartford, Connecticut.
According to police, the driver surrendered, but the passenger pulled out a knife and lunged at the officers. Police say the officers fired two shots, hitting the man one time in the thigh.
The suspect was listed in stable condition at Jacobi Medical Center. Officials say the officer was treated at the hospital for trauma, but did not suffer any serious injuries.
