Police are searching for a suspect from an armed robbery in Bedford-Stuyvesant that happened Saturday.
Police say the suspect robbed a check cashing service, located on the corner of Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Dekalb Avenue, and fired a round from his gun. Then he ran off, dropping the loaded gun and leaving his hat and shirt behind.
Police used a pack of K-9 dogs to try to track down the suspect, who, they believe, ducked into an apartment building at 688 Willoughby Ave.
Residents were evacuated from the building, and the area around it was sealed off by dozens of police officers as an NYPD helicopter hovered above. Investigators went door to door, searching for the alleged robber.
Despite the security measures, authorities say the suspect managed to slip away.
