Millions of people are in Manhattan for the nation's largest LGBT pride parade.
The parade kicked off at 36th Street and Fifth Avenue just after 12 p.m.
The annual event is an extra meaningful celebration to many because of Friday's Supreme Court ruling that extends marriage benefits to gay couples in all 50 states.
While June has always been gay pride month across the country, this year marks the first parade where the community can celebrate equal marriage rights for all same-sex couples.
Pride celebrations also kicked off in Cincinnati, Ohio, the hometown of Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff in the landmark Supreme Court case whose fight for his dying partner led to the national decision.
