Residents on one East New York block are happy that repairs have finally been made to a massive sinkhole that opened up nearly a month ago.
The 3-foot sinkhole on Hendrix Street near Dumont Avenue had been filled with branches and wood planks by neighbors in an attempt to alert drivers and pedestrians.
After News 12 contacted the city's Department of Environmental Protection Thursday, a crew was sent to assess the sinkhole and permanently repair it.
Residents say they are still frustrated that it takes so long for the city to repair hazardous road conditions like the sinkhole.
