Mayor Bill de Blasio's teenagers will have a starring role in a major Brooklyn parade this summer.
Former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz announced that Dante and Chiara will serve as King Neptune and Queen Mermaid in the 32nd Annual Mermaid Parade on Coney Island, the two most honorable positions for the event.
The parade was nearly canceled last year due to lack of funding following Superstorm Sandy, but private donations made it possible at the last minute.
It will be held on June 21.
