Mayor Bill de Blasio visited two churches in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Sunday to remind residents about his commitment to affordable housing.
The mayor visited Mt. Pisgah and Antioch Baptist Church and asked members to contact their City Council members to vote in favor of two proposals that would preserve affordable housing.
The Zoning for Equality Affordability law would allow the city to take a parcel of land that it was not previously allowed to build on before and create senior housing.
The mayor says he also wants the City Council to pass legislation on Mandatory Inclusionary Zoning that would require developers to make affordable housing a requirement of their plans.
