Witnesses say a mother was shot outside a Brighton Beach school while picking up her child.
The shots rang out outside of P.S. 253 at around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say Safia Bibi, 34, was caught between two groups of teens arguing. Witnesses told News 12 that Bibi was picking up her son when the crowd got rowdy and shots rang out.
Bibi was shot in the arm and taken to Lutheran Hospital, where she is in stable condition. No one else was hurt in the incident.
Police are currently on the hunt for the shooter. They say the shooter is a black teen with dreadlocks. He was wearing gray sweats at the time of the shooting, according to officials.
