The Metropolitan Transit Authority has unanimously approved its five-year, $68.4 billion capital plan.
The MTA says this plan will span from 2025 through 2029 with three goals in mind - providing frequent and reliable service, improving customer service, and fighting climate change.
The transit authority says it plans to make at least 60 more subway stations ADA-accessible to increase the percentage of accessible stations to over 50%.
The plan will now be submitted to the Capital Program Review Board by Oct. 1. The board will have 90 days to review and approve the plan.
