MTA, TWU announce plans to step up customer service in 2023

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is opening new customer service centers at over a dozen stations across New York City  
This new effort comes from a collaboration between the MTA and Transit Workers Union Local 100. The plan is to make it so that station agents will be outside of booths, giving direct support to transit riders at 15 high-traffic stations.  
NYC Transit President Richard Davey says they’re making it easier than ever for riders to get the proper support, whether that be with switching to OMNY or enrolling in the reduced-fare program.  
The centers will consist of repurposed agent booths and new retail outlets. The first six stations are set to open at the start of 2023.  
Bronx locations include the 161st Street-Yankee Stadium subway station, and Brooklyn locations include Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue stations.  
The remaining nine stations will welcome customer service centers over the course of next year.
