Several famous New Yorkers are nominated for the MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall Monday night.
Bronx natives Cardi B and Jennifer Lopez are nominated for awards, and Brooklyn's Jay-Z and superstar wife Beyonce are nominated for eight awards.
Cardi B, who leads with 10 nominations, will also perform as the show’s opening act.
J-Lo will be honored at the show with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award-- the program's version of the 'Lifetime Achievement' award.
Lopez is also nominated for two awards and will perform at the show.
Queens rapper Nicki Minaj will deliver a remote performance from an undisclosed location in New York City. Her hit song 'Chun-Li' is nominated in the 'Best Hip-Hop' category.
The show is also likely to pay homage to the late 'Queen of Soul' Aretha Franklin who died late last week.
The show will begin at 9 p.m. on MTV.
