A local organization honored Nassau County's first responders Saturday night in Hicksville.
The Indo-American Association for Change held its annual event with local officials such as Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino in attendance.
The event honored and recognized the service of those who were and are part of the Nassau County police and fire departments.
"We need partnerships, we need our diversity and that's why we're here to make sure that they get our representation 'cause they always support us from the community," said Nassau Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder.
This was the organization's third annual dinner and the first since the pandemic.
