The community and the NYPD came together Tuesday night to participate in the annual National Night Out event in Brownsville at the 73rd Precinct.
The event takes place each year on the second Tuesday in August. The event aims to improve the relationship between police and the people they protect.
The festivities for the event included a bounce house, waterslide and even a rock climbing wall.
To show support, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton stopped by the event in Brownsville and several others.
The goal of the event is to encourage people to help in crime prevention and let criminals know neighborhoods are fighting back.
