Tenants of the New York City Housing Authority’s Morris Houses at 1481 Washington Ave. have been living without gas since Nov. 29.

They say NYCHA has stopped giving out ticket complaint numbers due to the volume of calls.

NYCHA did provide residents with hot plates, but tenants told News 12 that they are inadequate. One tenant said they didn’t expect gas to be back on until January and that signs posted around the building say gas will be out “until further notice.”

In a statement to News 12, NYCHA said:

"Gas service interruptions and restoration work are a matter of public safety and involve multiple partners and steps, including shutting off service, making necessary repairs, inspections, and coordinating with the service vendors in order to safely restore service as quickly as possible. These processes are currently underway at 1481 Washington Avenue in the Bronx."
