Brooklyn residents battled the elements Tuesday as a nor'easter hammered the borough with heavy rain and high winds.
The city's Office of Emergency Management issued a travel advisory, reminding commuters to allow plenty of extra travel time, and be especially careful if driving on the slick, waterlogged roads.
Residents are being reminded to not touch power lines that may have been taken down by toppled trees, as well as to be cautious of flooded areas that can be deceptive. Do not try to walk across or drive through any stretches of sitting water.
Although the rain stopped Tuesday night, pockets of showers are expected to move across the area through Wednesday. Some places may see wet flakes come Thursday, but Friday and the weekend remain clear.
