Police arrested a 20-year-old man after they say he flipped over a stolen SUV and struck a pedestrian walking a dog in Brooklyn Thursday.
The driver allegedly stole a green GMC Envoy and crashed into a Toyota Avalon, hitting a 52-year-old woman walking her dog near the intersection of Hemlock Street and Ridgewood Avenue in Cypress Hills around 10:30 a.m.
The crash broke the woman's legs, and authorities brought her to Jamaica Hospital in serious but stable condition. The dog was originally thought to have died but may have survied the incident.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Brookdale Hospital with minor neck and back injuries.
Dashcam video shows the SUV fleeing the wrong way down a one-way street -- and then the moment of impact.
