NYPD investigating possible hate crime in East New York

The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is currently investigating a criminal mischief case that took place in East New York.

According to police, a man threw an object through a sign that was outside of a mosque located at 202 Pennsylvania Ave. on May 29. The suspect was last seen fleeing on Pennsylvania Avenue on foot.

One neighbor who lives next door to the mosque says he heard the chaos unfold.

The suspect is described as a male approximately 6 feet tall with a dark complexion, medium build and tattoos on their right arm.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police.
