Police charged a Sunset Park mother with murder in the drowning of her 2-year-old daughter Sunday.
Lin Li, 24, is also facing charges of manslaughter and acting in a manner injurious to a child after allegedly drowning the toddler in a bathtub.
The city's medical examiner earlier in the day ruled the child's death a homicide.
First responders found Melody Pheng unconscious inside her 47th Street home around 8:30 p.m. Sunday after a 911 call.
Emergency responders say they arrived to find Melody's father performing CPR on her. They transported her to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
According to police, the child's parents were giving her a bath before the incident. They say the father told them the girl's drowning was an accident.
Multiple reports say police saw bruising on the neck of the couple's 4-year-old son and became suspicious.
Melody's brother has been placed in the care of the Administration for Children's Services.
Police say the family has no reported history of prior domestic abuse.
