A miracle occurred on the FDR Drive Tuesday as a Brooklyn woman gave birth in her car with some help from an NYPD officer.
Detective Michael Sharpe, who is with the NYPD collision investigation squad, was heading to Manhattan traffic court when he heard a 911 call come across dispatch about a woman in labor. Sharpe quickly found the woman and her husband in their car on the side of the road and jumped into action.
