Officials: Man found dead after Gravesend fire

A person died after being found unresponsive when crews extinguished a building fire in Gravesend Saturday afternoon.

A man died after being found unresponsive when crews extinguished a building fire in Gravesend Saturday afternoon.
Authorities responded to the fire at 2304 W. Eighth St. shortly before 2 p.m. After FDNY crews extinguished the fire, police say an unconscious male was found on the fifth floor of the building.
He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Coney Island, where he was pronounced dead.
The man's identity is being withheld pending the notification of family members. News 12 is told he was 63 years old.
An EMS worker and two firefighters also suffered minor injuries, fire officials say.
The fire marshal is working to determine the cause of the fire.
