If you're looking for some "space" in the concrete jungle of Brooklyn, Space Club in Greenpoint may be just what you're looking for.
News 12 spoke with Max Friedman, president and co-founder of Space Club.
“The main idea is space to move around, space to explore, extra space to run wild. But then also of course, kids do love space, so even incorporated the stars," said Friedman.
He says it also prioritizes playtime in a place where it may be difficult to find.
“People need places to move around. Extra space to run and be free and play, especially in urban areas where you don't necessarily have a backyard or a swing set. You know, when it's too cold or too hot to go to the local park, you need somewhere else to imagine and explore and enjoy," said Friedman.
It's one of two locations in Brooklyn; the other is in Fort Greene. Space Club says it is opening another location in Dumbo this summer.
They offer after-school programs for frequent fliers, but also options for first timers.
Parents like David Nash say Space Club is a great place to go with the family.
“Space Club is our home away from home. It's literally a lifesaving spot that we come to quite often... and it's also super comfortable for parents," said Nash.
