Park Slope's historic Old First Reformed church is celebrating being open after the church's ceiling collapsed almost a decade ago.
The church held its first public event since its ceiling collapsed in 2011.

The Celebration of Arts featured acts by performers from across the borough.
Parishioners say the event was a way for the congregation to celebrate the hard work that went in to completing the sanctuary's ceiling so that the church could reopen.
The church has been open for a month, and parishioners say they are excited to be able to come together and celebrate.
The completion of the ceiling is just one phase of the nearly $10 million restoration project being done at the historical church.

The next phase includes restoring the windows and making the church more ADA-accessible.
