A group of musicians, artists and community members gathered Saturday outside the Flatbush McDonald's where a teenage girl was attacked to hold a "peaceful performance."
People who attended said they don't want the incident to speak for the rest of the borough. They gathered to sing and rap, and to spread positive messages about empowerment and education.
As News 12 has reported, cellphone video showing the brutal attack on the teen at the burger joint has gone viral. Three teens ranging in age from 15 to 17 have been arrested in the case.
Local community officials say residents need to hold their elected officials accountable to make sure that there are resources and after-school programs to keep young people out of trouble.
