Police say a 28-year-old was shot in the back and the head on the corner of Flatlands Avenue and E. 58th Street in Canarsie.

Sources close to the investigation say it started with an argument at the Shell gas station before one of the men shot at the other, grazing him in the head and hitting him in the back.

Police say it happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday. They say the victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is in stable condition.

Police say no arrests have been made. They say the shooter took off on Flatlands Avenue in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.
