Two men from Connecticut are facing felony charges after a police chase involving a stolen vehicle that ended in Putnam County.

The chase began after New York State Police tried to stop a vehicle traveling northbound on I-684 in Southeast that had been reported stolen.

Police said the vehicle did not stop and continued driving, prompting a pursuit.

A second state police unit later spotted the vehicle on I-84 and used a stinger device to successfully stop the car.

Authorities said three people exited the vehicle and ran from the scene.

The driver, Isaias Mendez, and a passenger, Dwayne Graham, were caught and arrested, police said.

Troopers said a third passenger, described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, has not been located.

Mendez and Graham were charged with crimes including criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

Both men were arraigned in the Town of Southeast court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail.

They are scheduled to return to court next month.
