A Glen Cove man has been arrested and is accused of hitting a little boy on his bike in Greenvale.

Police say the incident happened Tuesday afternoon as the 8-year-old was riding his bike off the sidewalk and into the street on Maple Avenue.

Police say the driver, Jose Guzman, 48, then drove away from the scene.

Guzman was arrested Wednesday when officers spotted his red Dodge in the neighborhood.

Guzman is now charged with leaving the scene of an incident and reckless endangerment.

The little boy suffered minor injuries but is expected to be OK.
