UPDATE: Nassau County police have confirmed that 61-year-old Keith McAllister has died.

A man is in critical condition after an incident at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, according to police.

Police say a 61-year-old man went into an unauthorized MRI room in the middle of a scan and was pulled to the machine by the large metallic chain around his neck, causing a medical episode.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was taken to the hospital, and an investigation is now underway.

Nicole Ham, who said she's a patient at Nassau Open MRI, told News 12 she was "surprised" and found the incident to be "unbelievable."

She said she would "absolutely" come back.

Ham said when she goes for an MRI there, the door is normally closed, and no one enters.

"I just hope he's OK," she said.
