Police say a man in Brownsville was shot in the leg Friday morning.

The police received a 911 call reporting the incident around 3:45 a.m. Police arriving at the scene found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The male suspect fled the location prior to the arrival of the police, authorities say.

The victim was hospitalized, and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
