Police say a man stole thousands of dollars and a bag of chicken from a Kennedy Fried Chicken in Morrisania.

Officials say the suspect broke into the establishment along East 170th Street on April 16 around 2:30 a.m. Once inside, the suspect went for the cash and got away with $2,400.

The owner of the business next door said he heard about the break-in but didn't realize the suspect had taken so much cash.

Anyone who recognizes the thief is asked to call police.
