A man accused of starting a shootout with officers in Crotona Park has been arrested
Calvin Peterkin took out a gun on employees at a Boost Mobile Store Wednesday before firing at officers on East 174th Street, police say.
Police say they responded to an armed robbery near the corner of East 174th Street and Bryant Avenue when Peterkin took a gun out on them.
When officers told him to drop it, he looked like he was going to, but then shot at them.
Two officers returned fire, which started a chase down East 174th Street before he got away.
Peterkin was arrested Monday after being found at a hospital.
He faces charges of attempted murder of an officer, two counts of criminal use of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon and menacing.
Peterkin has been arrested before for charges of robbery with a firearm, assault, selling drugs and forgery
