Authorities say a train derailed at the Neptune Avenue station in Coney Island.

The northbound F train derailed between West Eighth Street and the Neptune Avenue subway station around 12:25 p.m., police say.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials acknowledged a problem with the track that might have led to the incident and said that the wheel of the train came off the track, leading to the derailment.

All passengers from the train were evacuated safely. No injuries were reported.

MTA officials say today's incident had no connection to the collision and derailment of two trains last week.
