A 17-year-old allegedly ran a monthslong scheme where he robbed five delivery drivers in different parts of Suffolk County for nearly two months before he was arrested Tuesday, according to police.
Investigators said the teen, who they did not name because of his age, would order delivery from local restaurants and once the drivers got to the location, the teen would take their money, phone and flee the scene.
Police said the teen robbed:
  • A pizza delivery driver at a home on Brushwood Drive in Shirley on Feb. 22 around 8 p.m.
  • A Chinese food delivery driver at a home on Montauk Highway in Bellport on Feb. 25 around 9 p.m.
  • A pizza delivery driver at a home on Doane Avenue in Bellport on March 1 around 8:30 p.m.
  • A pizza delivery driver at a home on Terry Street in Patchogue on March 7 around 10 p.m.
  • A pizza delivery driver at a home on Michigan Avenue in Bellport on April 13 around 8:30 p.m.
Police said the teen displayed what appeared to be a handgun in four of the robberies.
The teen was arrested at 80 Horseblock Road in Bellport around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
He is charged with multiple counts of robbery in the first and second degrees, as well as third-degree grand larceny for allegedly stealing a car at 700 Patchogue Yaphank Road in Medford on Feb. 2 around 8:30 a.m.
