The NYPD is currently searching for a person responsible for a brutal assault on a laundromat employee that took place in Brownsville.
Surveillance video shows the suspect jump behind the counter and grab around five containers of Clorox bleach, according to the employees of 24 Hour Aqua Wash Laundromat. The suspect then is approached by the overnight employee who tries to stop him. The person is then seen using a hammer to hit that employee four times in the head before running away.
The employee that came into the laundromat and helped relieve the victim says that the victim has worked the night shift for over 20 years, but has been attacked twice in just the last six months.
One employee says the victim took no time off after the attack and is back to work. The suspect is still at large.
Some customers are urging the laundromat to put a security guard out front until the suspect is caught.
If you have any information on this suspect, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
