A woman in Canarsie is recovering in the hospital Sunday morning after police say her husband shot her and ran from the scene.
Officials say the 42-year-old woman was shot in the cheek just before 11 p.m. Saturday.
Officials say the incident happened following an argument in a fifth-floor stairwell.
Investigators have not released the victim's identity, but say she identified her husband as the shooter.
They say charges will be filed once the suspect is located.
The woman was taken to Brookdale Hospital, and is expected to be OK.
