Nassau County police say Melinda Medina, 47, was arrested in Levittown Monday afternoon after she struck an officer with a crutch and spit at police.
She first arrived on the scene soon after her 20-year-old son was pulled over for an expired inspection sticker and a suspended license, then authorities say she quickly became aggressive.
Detectives say later Medina also punched an officer in the face and caused damage to one of the officer's body cameras.
The officers involved did suffer a few injuries.
Medina was arraigned Tuesday on several charges, including assault, criminal mischief, and harassment, among others.
She is being held on bail on a $10,000 bond or $5,000 cash.
