Poughkeepsie police probe 2 shootings; 62-year-old man injured

Both shooting incidents are about an eight-minute walk from each other.

Police are looking into two shootings that occurred in Poughkeepsie – one occurred Monday evening and the other was overnight, police say.
Police responded to shots fired in the area of South Clinton and Main Street at 3:22 a.m. Police patrolled the area, but say no victims were located. Crime scene technicians arrived at the scene to collect evidence.
A similar incident happened at 8:25 p.m. Monday in the area of South Cherry Street and Main Street. Officers located a 62-year-old male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the back. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.
Both shooting incidents are about an eight-minute walk from each other.
