A new program is helping the visually impaired participate in tennis in Boerum Hill.
The "Eye on Tennis" program uses special foam balls with bells in them to help the players hear when the ball hits the ground.
Founder Anthony Ervard started the program in June after hearing similar ideas during his time abroad. He says they hope to create tennis balls that play a continuous sound as they travel over the net.
Eye on Tennis is still in a test phase, teaching a few players backhand and forehand shots. The players say it's already helping them become more confident on the court.
The program will officially start classes in October.
