MORE SNOW: After several inches of snow and sleet over the weekend, there is more snow on the way this week. In fact, there are three storms expected this week alone with more looming the following week. The first storm this week will likely be the snowiest, despite being on the northern edge of the storm.
TIMING AND IMPACTS: Snow showers will move in from the south around 10 p.m. Tuesday evening, with some steady bursts of snow between midnight and 3 a.m. Snow showers should exit by the morning commute, limiting significant travel impacts. Those who are traveling at night will still contend with slippery conditions. This snow will be a light and fluffy snow, sticking and stacking up quicker.
HOW MUCH SNOW? Expect 1-3 inches across the borough, less to the north, more to the south. The northern edge means a razor-thin gradient from little or no snow to significant snow. There is a chance southern parts of the borough could see three or more inches, or on the flip side northern-most parts of the borough may not even see a flake. Expect a slight shift tomorrow so stay tuned for the final snow forecast.
LATER THIS WEEK: Wednesday is a dry day but snow and ice move in around 8 p.m. A brief burst of wintry precipitation changes over to rain by midnight. A light accumulation is possible before being washed away by the rain. Most of Thursday is dry and so is Valentine's Day Friday.
WEEKEND STORM: A third storm arrives later Saturday and lasts through early Sunday and it will likely be the strongest of the three storms. Expect more of a wintry mix to rain with that storm as well, before the arctic cold returns early next week.
Stay tuned not only for this storm, but for the next several storms that loom afterward as a parade of storms is continuing, and follow Allan @AWxNYC for hyperlocal updates.
