Whether you dream of becoming the next big designer or prefer working behind the scenes, there’s a program that can help put you on the runway to a career in fashion.

RED Fashion School has been in Norwalk for three years.

The 15-month program enables students to earn their certificate quickly and pursue their career in the fashion world.

Fashion professor and assistant director Jonathan Kyle Farmer says the program is easily adaptable for each student depending on what they hope to achieve.

"It's about one on one, you know, and I think that's the most important thing. And I think our school generally, historically has been that," he says.

RED Fashion School student Alyssa Campbell is finishing up her fourth semester. She hopes her experience there will propel her into her next career.

"I never thought of running my own business or starting things like that. And I found through here that I probably could do that, and that's something that I'm working towards," she says.

Farmer says the curriculum includes fashion illustration, pattern making, sewing, portfolio and much more.

"All the stuff we cover so that they can make their vision come alive essentially," says Farmer.

He says the students make RED Fashion School the special place that it has become.

"That's what this place is about. It's about giving somebody that first footstep. Because everybody's story is different and we really love the stories. We love the stories," says Farmer.

RED Fashion School is now accepting applicants.
