Residents of Carroll Gardens say an unfinished condominium building has become an eyesore to the neighborhood, and they are asking the city to tear it down.
The project?s developers received a permit to transform an old factory on Carroll Street into a luxury condo. However, a stop-work order was issued in March because plans to build additional floors exceeded the neighborhood limit.
Since then, neighbors say the site has been abandoned.
?It?s an eye sore,? says resident Jesus Gonzales. ?It?s blocking half [of] the sidewalk.?
Those associated with the project say work will begin again in coming weeks, after owners submit a revised plan to the Department of Buildings. Neighbors remain skeptical.
The architect and contractor of the project were not immediately available for comment.
