Brooklyn residents are helping out families in Flint, Michigan who are still experiencing a water crisis.
Volunteers with the Be You NYC 4 Flint group collected 10,000 bottles of water, hand sanitizer and filters for Flint residents. It's From The Sole shoe shop also donated sneakers.
The donations were placed on trucks in Crown Heights on Thursday. The truck is expected to arrive at Flint City Hall around 10 a.m. Friday.
After nearly three years, the water crisis in Flint is still unresolved. Flint's mayor has said that lead readings at more than 20 homes are still 10 times the federal limit, and at least 100 children have tested positive for high levels of toxic lead in their blood.
