It's a great place to exercise and get some fresh air, and it's also the highest point on the island.
News 12’s Erin Colton got her steps in when she headed to Jayne's Hill in Melville for this week's Road Trip: Close to Home.
Jayne's Hill is famous for having the highest elevation on Long Island – 400 feet above sea level located on the North Shore in West Hills County Park.
The hill dates back to the 1820s and Walt Whitman hiked it in 1881. Whitman wrote about how it was one of his favorite spots.
