Rockefeller Center opens submissions to host weddings for 5 couples in honor of Pride
Rockefeller Center opened submissions for couples to have a chance for a complimentary wedding in celebration of Pride.
The series is called “Love Above All” and it is held annually as a Rockefeller Center tradition to celebrate and support the queer community during Pride.
“Love Above All Weddings” will offer five couples each a ceremony. The ceremony could include up to 10 guests.
Ceremonies are set to be held at 620 Loft and Garden, which is Rockefeller Center’s picturesque private rooftop garden.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests will be treated to a champagne toast and wedding cake at the iconic Rainbow Room. Couples will also get to enjoy a special performance by a star of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as well as a wedding photoshoot at Top of the Rock Observation Deck.
“Rockefeller Center is a place that has always celebrated equality and love, and we are overjoyed to participate in this year’s Pride festivities and have the opportunity to help New Yorkers create their most incredible experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives,” said EB Kelly, Tishman Speyer managing director overseeing Rockefeller Center. “We can feel the love already, and we invite all New Yorkers whose weddings may have had to be reimagined because of the pandemic or those who are simply ready now, to share their stories, their support for the LGBTQ+ community, and celebrate their special occasion at Rockefeller Center this Pride.”
Couples are invited to submit an application in which they will be asked to share their love story and how they support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
Couples can send in submissions through June 1. The winning couples will be announced on June 4.
