School: Fordham rowing team pulled from water after boat capsized; no injuries

The school said there were no injuries and that those who were rescued were taken to hospitals after they came ashore on city property at Rodman’s Neck.

Nine members of the Fordham University rowing team were pulled from the water on Eastchester Bay Saturday after their boat capsized due to a “sudden shift in weather conditions,” the school said in a statement to News 12.
The boat included nine student athletes, eight other students and two coaches.
The school said there were no injuries and that those who were rescued were taken to hospitals after they came ashore on city property at Rodman’s Neck.
“All of the individuals involved were examined and released,” the statement said.
One of the rowing club’s boats was lost in the mishap.
