Sen. Richard Blumenthal announced Sunday that he'll be traveling to Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Fiona's devastation on the island.
Blumenthal met with local members of the Puerto Rican community whose families were impacted by the natural disaster.
"I am seeking the kind of funding that is necessary to do right by our fellow Americans, and I will be going to Puerto Rico in November on a fact-finding and oversight mission to make sure federal funds are used effectively to rebuild," Blumenthal said.
Family members of Norwalk resident Ralph Suarez-Santos said they're still unable to reach some of their relatives in Puerto Rico to make sure they're OK.
