Sheepshead Bay Catholic school honors secretary for decades of service

Students at Good Shepherd Catholic Academy paid tribute today to a school secretary who has spent half her life working at the school.
Marie Del Gaizo turns 75 Saturday. "Her kids" gave her a big surprise today by lining up outside the school and singing her happy birthday.
Del Gaizo will have manned the front desk of the Sheepshead Bay school for 32 years come September. School staff also revealed a statue of Jesus in Del Gaizo's honor.
"75 is a number, and I just have the energy. And it's very hard to walk from this place. I just love this and part of this is like a ministry for me," said Gaizo.
She has no plans of retiring any time soon.
