The sheriff's office says it busted another illegal cannabis shop in Sheepshead Bay. The sheriff's office said it arrived at 2912 Avenue P on Tuesday afternoon and found over 50 pounds of illegal cannabis at what appears to be an undercover illegal manufacturer.
Among the findings was the first printing press ever recovered.
“This is a significant seizure in the fact that they are actually manufacturing illegal product and falsely labeling products and selling in the community," said New York City Sheriff Anthony Miranda.
News 12 was there when two men were arrested but was asked to not disclose their identity pending charges and investigation.
Much of the packaging is colorful and displays children's cartoons, which may have been intended to target underage individuals, according to police.
“Kids cartoons, this is everything we’re talking about," Miranda added. "This is the danger that are in our communities and they don’t get the actual manufacturing license, packaging and preparing their own labeling in this facility.”
It remains unclear where all of the product derived from, but the sheriff's office assured the community it will continue to crack down on illegal cannabis and protect communities.
