Shots rang out inside a Brownsville apartment building Thursday night, leaving a resident panicked - and a bullet hole in her door. Police say gunshots went off around 10:30 p.m. inside the building on Dumont Avenue. The NYPD said four rounds were fired on the fourth floor of the building. Those shots hit three apartment doors and a wall. News 12 spoke with a resident who described those gun shots. "This was like, pow, pow, pow," said a resident who asked to remain anonymous. Police say no one was physically injured, but a Brownsville resident says she feels traumatized. "I'm still extremely shaken by this. I don't know what their intentions were because clearly, we can see it was not good," she says. News 12 reached out to the building management but has not yet heard back.
