Today, is the second consecutive day of summer-like heat in our borough. Highs at 3 p.m. will hover near 96 to 98 degree, feels-like 100 to 104 degrees.

This is coupled with elevated pollutants across ground level trigger a reduction of air quality causing concerns for sensitive groups.

Important weather suggestions include limiting outdoor exposure, strenuous exercise and staying hydrated.

Record challenging high in Central Park today could rival, 99 degrees set in 1962.

The summer-like trend will not continue into Memorial Day weekend. Temperatures slide below normal Friday in the 60s. Rain shower chances could dampen outdoor plans for the unofficial start to the summer season into next Tuesday.
