Winter weather advisories warn of snow and ice for Thursday morning beginning at 4 a.m.
Thursday morning commuters should prepare for a wintry mix of weather as roads could be slippery.
Warmer temperatures will move in later in the day, as the warmer air mixes in, the snow will change over to sleet and freezing rain for areas south of I-84 and down through the I-95 corridor for a short time before going over to rain south of the Merritt Parkway.
The timing when all this happens is subject to change, if the warmer air moves in faster, there will be less snow and more mixing and rain.
If the cold air lingers slightly longer, count on more snow and even ice. Coastal areas south of I-95 will likely see less snow, but slightly more ice and then plain rain. All of this will wrap up shortly after lunchtime.
Another storm will move through over the weekend and there is also another chance for more snow around Tuesday of next week.
THURSDAY: Snow, sleet to rain, ending in the afternoon. High of 37.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny. High of 40.
SATURDAY: Late snow and ice. High of 34.
SUNDAY: Early showers, then partly sunny. High of 40.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny High of 34.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy, snow showers. High of 37.
WEDNESDAY: Morning clouds, then sun. High of 36.
