Students have started a petition to allow student MetroCards to carry unlimited fares.
Currently, full-fare student MetroCards allot three rides and transfers per day and don't work after 8:30 p.m. or on weekends.
Supporters of the petition say those limitations prevent students from getting involved in extracurricular activities.
The Office of Pupil Transportation says that it works closely with families and schools to ensure each student receives the proper services and support they need.
The petition has already garnered more than 11,000 signatures from students and parents.
